An absolutely outrageous accident with our credit card!!! On arriving at the hotel, the administrator told us that the room had been payed with card and asked us to give him the card as guarantee - without a word of warning that he was going to block the deposit! Afterwards we were promissed that it would be unblocked, when we checked out. But at check out another administrator explained, that it had been a mistake and that the room hadn't been payed, so he offered us to pay with cash at the moment. So did we, but in spite of this fact it appeared that the sum was charged from our card!! Actually, we payed twice and are now having serious problems with getting our money back!
We have stayed at the Amsterdam Airport hotel many, many times. The staff is unfailingly friendly and helpful. The hotel is located across from a park which is ideal for walking - even in the rain. Transportation to the center of Amsterdam is easy by bus and only 2 Euros per person. The breakfast is costly, but well worth it if booked as part of a promotion.
We always ask for a room facing the park and not one facing the parking lot and trains, which tend to be a little noisy.
Free fast Wifi
I travel a lot, business and pleasure, Europe & Asia and this place is massively overpriced. It's a Motel. At Half the rate I paid, it would be almost acceptable value.
The lake close across the street is really beautiful and perfect for a nice breakfast. The environment is quiet and perfectly relaxing. The room was really clean. The shop in the gas station next to the hotel offers delicious and good price croissant and coffee.
It was a little bit far from the city, but accessible with public transport in 20 minutes from city center. The guy who works at the bar was too loud one night when we were there for dinner.
Breakfast was good and filling. Internet is quick and fast.
1) The staff are mostly reluctant workers. With surly faces and un- helpful; attitude. After Mercure Budapest experience this was a disaster. Special mention of Ms.Saira at the Reception. She was totally un-interested in helping a guest, prone to give misleading information just to "get rid of the person" in front, answering with a glum and sulking face all the time. The others were not much better except Max the only male at the reception. 2) They did not allow me Accor points even though I got the credit from Mercure Budapest. Reason given being "I booked through an online agency". But this did not stop Mercure Budapest from giving me credit !! 3) Location is way out of town. Journey by taking shuttle to airport and then train to the city would be a total of 40-45 mins. The same if you take the bus from near the hotel and then tram on switch to the city centre. The shuttle from/to the hotel stops at 0030 hrs so you dont have a choice but a taxi if you need to move in the early hours. 4) Elevator to the higher floors are a looooong walk from the reception. There is no bell servivce so if you have more than 1 piece luggage then God help you. 5) Housekeeping kept taking away the drinking water glasses from the room each time they cleaned. And I had to keep calling them to ask them for fresh ones.
Good service from Airport. |Nice business area and bar, room really quite for bei9ng near by an airport
The restourant was cold and with a poor menu
Very convenient, from the bus pick up at the airport, to the fact I could have dinner and drinks in the hotel, an early night, and a comfortable sleep. Lovely big bath tub. The staff were really lovely and treated myself and my baby very well.
stark paint in the corridors.
The hotel staff was excellent - as always! Mercure has remodeled the rooms - new beds, carpeting, etc. - and they are in wonderful condition. The breakfast buffet is awesome! The hotel is located across from a wonderful park which is ideal for walking and biking.
The Mercure has stopped its airport shuttle service in the middle of the day. This means that travelers have to take a bus to or from the airport between 10:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. The bus stop is not especially close and lugging suitcases to it is inconvenient.
Friendly management; free parking during weekend; outside center but close to Schiphol and easy to travel to center of Amsterdam
Its location and cost of the room.
Cost of food and the one local telephone call I made.
the size of the rooms and there were not many sugars in the tray
Excelent quality/prive ratio; quiet place surrrounded by green spaces and animals (birds and rabbits).
The hotel is distant from the center of the city. At night, the are only one or two buses per hour.
Pleasant, relaxing location. Loved the green space, landscaping, ducks on the pond, etc. Nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy that while eating. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice to stay a bit out of the city with easy bus access to the city.
No airport shuttle service between 11 am and 5 pm.
